African Medical City (AMC), Ghana
A Ghana‑Led Pan‑African Healthcare Infrastructure Initiative
Building a modern, integrated medical city to strengthen healthcare access, education, and research across Ghana and West Africa.
African Medical City is a long‑term healthcare development initiative designed to address critical gaps in access to advanced medical care by combining clinical services, medical education, research, and community impact within a single integrated ecosystem
African Medical City is currently in its Structured Development Phase advancing toward a bankable healthcare infrastructure platform.
The initiative is being prepared for institutional investment, strategic partnerships, and phased execution aligned with global healthcare standards.
The project will be developed in phases, beginning with a ~300-bed flagship hospital, scaling into a 600–800+ bed academic medical city integrating clinical care, education, and research.
Why African Medical City Matters
Across Ghana and West Africa, demand for advanced healthcare services continues to rise while existing facilities remain under sustained pressure. Many patients face limited access to specialized care, leading to delayed treatment or outbound medical travel.
African Medical City is designed to respond to this challenge by supporting the development of modern healthcare infrastructure that strengthens local capacity, trains healthcare professionals, and contributes to long‑term health system sustainability.
Shared during the structured development phase to support alignment and future engagement.
